Ukrainian Samchykivka colouring book

An inspiring colouring book featuring Tasmanian birds decorated with Anna Mykhalchuk's origional Samchykivka style designs. 

Anna is a Ukrainian artist specialising in the traditional folk art style Samchykivka which originated from the little villiage Samchyky. This traditional and distinctive style of decorative painting is listed on the Ukrainian register of Cultural Heritage. The imaginative floral decorating of homewares and furnishings was considered to bring good luck and good health to the home owner.

Anna and her small family are refugees living in safety in Hobart since 2022, Anna's work has been so well received since her arrival she has been commissioned to paint several public murals. 

Anna has created this book to share her passion for preserving Ukrainian folk art, allowing us all to have a go at the beautiful traditional art style. The colouring style is easy for beginners, young and older.

size: A5    colouring pages: x12 pages of colouring outlines on thick quality paper, pages are easily removable allowing for sharing with family / friends.

Colouring can be applied with:

1. Lyra pencils (strong brightly pigmented smooth pencils)
2. Sedulus colour smudging sticks (for a soft colour)
3. Stockmar opaque watercolours (x12 shades in a refillable tin)
