GRIMMS Wooden Rainbows in classic colours

The iconic rainbow stacking puzzles by GRIMMS were amongst the first puzzles designed by Spiel und Holz (now GRIMMS); with roots in Steiner / Waldorf education the GRIMMS rainbow represents the element of air in a series of four elemental puzzles. Each puzzle is hand cut from one piece of timber, well sanded and all edges and corners are bevelled by hand, each piece is hand dipped into a bright water based colour and left on a rack next to its set neighbours for a day to be air dried, then reassembled for packaging when the paint has fully absorbed. This process is labour and space intensive and makes each GRIMMS elemental sets unique. This versitile toy has the ability to be integrated into many hours of exploratory building and imaginary play.

There are three sizes of classic Rainbow to select from; 

• The small makes a cute little hand bag toy (smallest pieces not suited to under 3 years) 
• The medium 6 piece is a lovely first stacking set and puzzle (age 3+ due to the size of the smallest piece)
• The large is the most popular as 'a gift to grow into'. The large 12 piece Rainbow is a stunning building set, a delightful piece to display, a wonderfully versatile, open ended toy. This large rainbow tunnel can be used in as many ways as your imagination allows; perhaps will be a cradle to rock a small baby doll to sleep, a bridge, a tunnel, a fence, an Ostheimer animal enclosure, or a set of small houses
• Use it to build amazing sculptures and as parts of ball runs,
• Played in conjunction with one or more of the larger building sets, with building boards or semi circles, the possibilities are endless.

Grimm’s Rainbows carry the prestigious “Spiel Gut” recommendation, a 'good toy' certification for children’s toys in Germany.
